Grandfather Mountain is located on The Blue Ridge Parkway towering 5,946 feet above northwest North Carolina. It is located on US 221 two miles north of Linville and one mile south of the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 305, 15 miles south of Blowing Rock. The Grandfather Highland Games are held in the fields by Grandfather Mountain.
