Merlefest 2013

Merlefest began in 1988 as a "traditional Plus" music. Located at Wilkes Community College.

Resturants will battle head to head in single elimination battles. Held at Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock. You and the judges decide who goes home on a menu created round a secret ingredient. www.fireontherock.com for reservations.

New River Marathons
Date: 5/4 - 5/04

New River Marathons start at Riverside Restaurant, Todd, NC- 4 marathon races to chose from, serves as Boston marathon qualify event.

Spring to MacRae
Date: 5/4 - 5/04   click here for website

“Spring To MacRae” is designed to offer participants both the excitement of a trip to MacRae Peak as well as the opportunity to witness life coming back to Grandfather after a long winter slumber. Hikers will traverse .9 miles, using cables and seven ladders to gain almost 600 feet in elevation. This half-day hike begins at 9 a.m.
Cost per person: Park admission + $15 guided hike fee.
